Topic: How to create interest in writing through WhatsApp classes

Introduction: Writing is the painting of the voice. Reading feeds the soul. writing nourishes it. Dictating letter sounds, words or sentences is important for developing writing skills. Regular revision and dictation will help all the children to master the spellingsspellingework aims to build confidence and fluency in writing. Guided writing is an important step in preparing children for independent writing.

Evidence of the problem: Due to pandemics I conducted online classes for students from 1-8std.Very few students only responded regularly. When I approached them, they said that they couldn't get a mobile because their parents come home late and also they leave work earlier. Some of them said that their parents didn't get coolie to recharge /top-up. Many of them don't have smartphones. A few of them forgot to write their name too.

Rationale:

1. Majority of students are not involved ved in WhatsApp classes.

2. Parents are technically backward

3 Students are not accesaccessmartphones

Research Questions:

To students:

1. Are you able to share your write-ups on WhatsApp?

2. Have you watched or downloaded any videos?

3 . Do you like to write poems or essays?

To parents:

1. Do you have smartphones?

2. Will you allow your child to use your mobile?

3 . Are you able to watch and guide their activities in WhatsApp classes?

Data Collection:

Class 6 7 8

No of students. :4 8 3 7 =22

Parent's smartphone: 4 4 0 7= 15

I called the parents who possess a smartphone and sought help from them to cooperate. Some of the students are interested in writing poems and essays.

Based on the data analysis I created a WhatsApp group on 27.2.2021.

Action Phase: In this phase, I planned to give more word-level, sentence-and-level activities to involve students in WhatsApp classes. I started on March 1st.

I instruct students to listen to tongue twisters from the online internet Kalvi radio to write and practice in their notes regularly which I contribute.

My contribution to Kalvi radioRadione -Tongue twistTwistersnclusion: Since 2010 I do action research to bring change. Last year also while the research was in progress stopped due to covid 19. I couldn't think about research on the pandemic. But CELT opened my mind to select this topic. Students are participating well and I can find improvement in my students too. Parents already y to support their wards to keep busy. Out of 15 students, 7 of them show their intintent writing. After completion of this work, I hope that I shall bring out creative writers from our school. I want to include all of them (22 students) in the research if they possess a smartphone.
